Stanley Thompson 2013 Assessor of theYear

Bradley County Assessor of Property Stanley Thompson was awarded the 2013 Assessor of the Year Award before the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers during the Annual Winter meeting.

The award was presented on behalf of the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers by the 2013 President Betty Burchett.

"The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers proudly recognizes Stanley Thompson for exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism, service and leadership as Assessor of Property for Bradley County and name him as Assessor of the Year for 2013,” said Betty Burchett.

Also on hand for the award ceremony was Will Denami, executive director of the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers, who said "Stanley Thompson and the Bradley County Assessor’s office continue to hit it out of the park.

They won the Excellence in Operations award for 2012 and Arnold Tarpley was recognized as the Chief Deputy of the Year for 2011.

"After 28 years in the office, Stanley continues to demonstrate on a daily basis the knowledge and professionalism of an outstanding Assessor of Property. He is always willing to go above and beyond the duties of his office. Most recently, after completing his job of creating the assessment roll, he spent countless hours examining and perfecting the details of the entire tax roll, a task which had never been done before in Bradley County. He has definitely earned the award of Assessor of the Year,” Denami said.

"I never set out to win any award, I just try to do a good job. If we see a problem, we just fix it. I know a lot of folks like to say, well that is not my job, but, in my office, we say — let’s just get the job done. We have an excellent team in the Bradley County Assessor’s office and we try to make sure everyone is treated fairly. It is a privilege to serve the people of Bradley County and an honor to be recognized by so many other good Assessors across the state,” said Thompson.
